That orders be^drawn upon the City Treasury, payable out of the "George Street Sewer Fund," in favor of the following persons and in the following amounts, to-wit: William G. Vatke, $100.00; Rose A. Hurley, $100.00; A. M. Hnnnaford, $100.00; Elizabeth Callahan, $100.00. Said sums being a refund of as sessment paid by the above named parties as owners of the west one-third of Lot 1 and the west one-half of the west two thirds and the east one-third of Lot 10, Block 96, and the west one-third of Lot 1, Block 95, all in West St. Paul Proper Addition to the City of St. Paul, for the construction of a sewer on George street, from a point fifty feet east of Livingston avenue to Goff avenue, it appearing that an error was made by the Board of Pub lic Works in omitting from the assessment certain real property specially benefited by said improvement. That an order be drawn upon the City Treasury in the sum of ten dol lars ($10.00), payable out of the "Election Expense Account of the General Fund," in favor of A. W. M. Anderson, chairman of the Socialist Labor party; said Ander son having paid to the City Clerk the sum of twenty dollars for placing the names of M. J. Cikanek. as candidate of said party for the assembly, and H. C. Carstensen as candidate of- said party for Mayor of the City of St. Paul, upon the Official Election Ballot of said city at the last spring election for city officers, whereas the proper fee therefor was ten dollars ($10.00). Ay F No. 7780— In the matter of the Board of Public Works dated July 25, 1904. It is hereby ordered by the Common Council of the City of St. Paul: That the Board of Public Works of eald City of. St. Paul cause the following improvements to be made, to-wit: . Curb, nil, level and improve Milton street, from Goodrich avenue to Summit avenue, usttig sandstone curbing, In the City of St. Paul, Minnesota. That said Board cause said work to b« let by contract, as provided by law, with ■ out one-half the estimated cost being first paid into the City Treasury, and after said Work shall be placed under contract, said Board shall proceed without delay to as sess the amount, as nearly as they can as certain the same, wliich will be required to pay the costs and necessary expenses Of such improvement upon the real estate to be benefited by said improvement, as provided by law; it being the opinion of the Council that real estate to be assessed for such Improvement can be found bene fited to the extent of the costs and ex penses necessary to be incurred thereby. ISO 4. It is hereby ordered by the Common Council of the City of St. Paul: That the Board of Public Works of said City of St. Paul cause the following im provements to be made, to-wit: Grade, curb, fill, level and improve Far rington avenue, from Front street to West. Lawson street, using cement curbing, in the City of St. Paul. Minnesota. That said Board cause said work to be let by contract, as provided by law, with out one-half the estimated cost being first paid into the City Treasury, and after said work shall be placed under contract, said Board shall proceed without delay to as sess the amount, as nearly as they can as certain the same, which will be required to pay the costs and necessary expenses of such improvement upon the real estate to be benefited by said improvement, as pro vided by law; it being the opinion of the Council that real estate to be assessed for such improvement can be found benefited to the extent of the cdsts and expenses necessary to be incurred thereby. It is hereby ordered by the Common Council of the City of St. Paul: That the Board of Public Works of said City of St. Paul cause the following im provements to be made, to-wit: Construct a sewer on Dearborn street, from the end of sewer on Dearborn street at Livingston avenue, thence west 290 feet, in the City of St. Paul. Minnesota. That said Board cause said work to be let- by contract, as provided by Hw, without one-half the estimated cost being first paid into the City Treasury, itr.d after said work shall be placed under contract, said Board shall proceed with out delay to assess the amount, a-: nruily as they can ascertain the same, v/hich will be required to pay the costs and necessary expenses of such improvement upon the real esetate to be benefited by said improvement, as provided by low; It being the opinion of the Council th^.t leal estate to be assessed for such hrnrove ment can be found benefited. It is hereby ordered by the Common Council of the City of St. Paul: Tha.t the Board of Public Works of the City of St. Paul cause the following im provement to be made, to-wit: Construct, relay or repair, with ce ment, a sidewalk six feet wide on the south side of Hawthorne street, from Payne avenue to Edgerton street, In the City of St. Paul, Minnesota; and it is further Ordered that final order known as Board File No. 19689, approved July 8, 1904, for the construction, with cement, a sidewalk on the south side of Hawthorne street, from Payne avenue to Edgerton street, is hereby repealed and annulled. That said Board shall proceed without delay to assess the amount, as nearly as they can ascertain the same, which will be required to pay the costs and neces sary expenses of such improvement upon the real estate to be benefited by said im provement, as provided by law; it being the opinion of the Council that the real estate to be assessed for such improve ment can be found benefited to the ex tent of the damages, costs and expenses necessary to be incurred thereby. That the proposition of David Allie to compromise and settle his claim against the City of St. Paul, arising out of the defective condition of the sidewalk near the northeast corner of Carroll street and Farrington avenue, as is more particularly set out in his communication to the Com mon Council under date of March 20, 1904, upon payment to him of sum of seventy five dollars ($75.00), be and the same Is hereby accepted, and the proper city offi cers are hereby authorized and directed to draw a warrant upon the City Treasurer, in favor of W. P. Westfall. as attorney for said David Allie. payable out of the "Compromise Account of the General Fund, ' in the sum of seventy-five dollars; said sum, however, to be delivered only upon there being filed with the City Comptroller a receipt of said claimant therefor, together with a release duly ex ecuted by him in form to be approved by the Corporation Attorney, releasing and discharging the city from any and all claims and demands of every kind and nature, and more particularly on account of those arising out of the injuries sus tained by said David Allie on the day and under the circumstances hereinbefore noted.
