Last Friday morning, the
neighbors of Mr. Frank K. Gil
leU, who usually tir around as
early as any of them, noticed the
unuHual quiet and lateness ot the
hour for no one to U? stirring,
and this caused them to make an
investigation. Looking through
the window Mrs. Gillett was dis
covered lying on the floor. The
doors were all locked, and Mar
shal Bankson was tent for. Up
on forcing the door open, Mrs.
Gillett was found lying on the
floor utterly helpless from what
seemed to be a stroke of paraly
sis. Dr. Allen was tent for and
so pronounced the case. Mrs.
Win. Ulrieh is reported as saying
she left Mrs. Gillett about nine
o'clock Thursday evening in her
usual apparent good health and
of course she was stricken be
tween that time and nine o'clock
Friday morning, the time of the
first discovering her condition.
Her whole right side is complete
ly paralyzed and her tongue is so
atiected that she cannot speak
though she seems to be con
scious. Her neighbors are do
ing for her all that good neigh
bors can and while at this time
there seems to be little prospect
of her recovery yet it is hoped
that she may recover. Her son,
Mell Gillett who lives in Ohio
was telegraphed for last Saturday.
