The meeting was organized by appointing J. W. Jameson chairman, and John Scott secretary uf faid meeting. It was movod and seconded that laicli ard Wummack be appointed u member of ho central committee ironi Millwood every position ho has demonstrated the rcctitudo of his lifo, no less than the abilities of his mind. In Bhort, Mr Editor, tho voters of Lincoln county almost irrespective of party, will support Buckner for Congress in opposition to anybody else. In accordance with the method of pro ceeding recommended by tho former Democratic county committee, at a meet ing held in Troy on the 18th of March last, a portion of tho Democrats of I'rairio township met in primary meeting at Truxton on Saturday, tho 27th of April, 1872. On motion of V. S. Pcntiington, T. T. Johnson, Sr., was called to presido, nnd W. Cunningham wus chosen secre tary. The chairman, after alluding to tho impolitic and even suicidal apathy in regard to civil duties, now manifest iu the case of many citizens, and after strongly urgipg the necessity of prompt nnd efficient action on the part of the Democracy at this time, stated the object any county in tne district, ncr voice ought to havo great weight in the nomi nation. That voico is for Buckner, first, last and all tho time, B. Wo givo considerable space this week to correspondence and communications of local interest, thus excluding a num ber of news and political items of minor importance.
