responsible parties, that my opponent,

of Superintendent of Public Schools, has
been circulating a report throughout tho
western portion of the county, that I was
one of tho parties who solicited him to
become a candidato for that oflico, and
that before consenting to do so, ho had
solicited me to become a candidato, nnd
that I had declined doing so. I beg
leavo to state to the publio that thesa
assertions aro falso, oven without tho
shadow of a foundation, manufactured
by himself with a special view to my
personal injury, nnd to his own self
