The recent fine rains have put the meadows, pastures, oats and wheat growing In good earnest, but it is doubtful if so much rain at this time is very good for wheat and corn, however it has put new life in everything and everybody. The people are talking very earn estly of having tlje court house ring investigated. We think it a good plan for there does certainly seem to be a real big "nigger" 'kivered" up under somebody's hat. Let the peo ple see what their hirelings are doing. The servant should not bo above his master. Honest men fear no harm from a thorough investigation. R. Stevenson makes his announcement in this week's Repub licak for re-election tor the office of county surveyor. While Mr. Steven son has had this office for a little more than one term, he has really had it only one term as he filled out an unexpired term at first. He has been giving good satisfaction and U now much better qualified to fill the office than when he first took it. He has had to buy a lot of expensive in struments and books in order to do the work that has to be done and feels that he should be con sidered for another term.
