The New Organization to be Termed the Tri.Cltjr Railway Company-All Debt to be Wiped Out and the Corporation to e Ahead on an Entirely Bemoleled Flan. The meeting of the stockholders of J the Davenport & Rock Island Rail way company, controlling the street railway system of the three cities, to consider a proposition to reorganize the company on a basis that would wipe out all" indebtedness, was held at the cnnipany'd office in Davenport this moraing. President D. H. L011 derback presiding, and Secretary and Treasurer J. F. Lardncr acting in his otlicial capacity. Aside frooi.Mr. Louderback there were also present from Chicago. John J. Mitchell, Clarence Duckinghau, J. C. Hutch ins, C. F. Dow and V. W. Windsor. The number of shares of stack rep resented was 6,713. After a full and thorough consideration of the com pany's condition, its indebtedness due'to the immense amount of pav ing carried on in the three cities.it was decided that a reorganization was the only way open to the company, and a vote on a proposition to dissolve and surren der the stock of the present com pany and dispose of it to another company was sustained by 6,511 shares to 1C9 voting against it, the latter representing Davenport stock holdings. This being more than the three-fonrths necessary, the com pany will be reorganized in a few days under the title of the Tri-City Street Hailway conipauj', with capi tal sufficient to take care of all in debtedness, preferred paving vouch ers and other liabilities, which have given the officials night marcs for several years. The New Company. Speaking of t'.e reorganization this morning, J. J. Mitchell, the heaviest stockholder, said: "We have made up our minds to start over again under an entirely new name. We will pay up all that we owe and let what has been expended in improvements, equipment, etc., be charged up to the past. So far the immense sums of money that have been expended here have been for the benelit of the three cities entirely. We have been constantly putting in, but have been getting nothing out. We hope under the plan we propose to adopt to give those who have been putting up the money constantly a chance to get sonic benelit. Meanwhile the people of the three cities will continue to enjoy a tirst-elass system which will not be depreciated by tho change." CRACKSMEN AT JOSLIN. The Safe la W. II. Whltrside'e Store Blown Op; n Lout Niifht. Cracksmen invaded the village of Joslin last night. Mowed a safe and departed without disturbing the peace and (juictof that neighborhood. The sufferer of tho visit is W. II. Whiteside, who conducts a general merchandise store. His establish ment was entered by prying open a window with tools, secured at a black smith shop near by. They are on the Koek Island National bank, which Mr. Whiteside has warnod of the circumstances. Surrounding towns, where persons would be apt to cash the certificates, have been notilied. and Mr. Whiteside has little fear that his loss will be more than nomi nal. Drafts amounting to $700 or $800 were also taken from the safe, but as they are not endorsed they arc worthless. A eouple of weeks ago Hillsdale was visited by cracksmen, who were scared away while in the act of doing a like job, and they are snpposed to be the same parties. ' KiTer triplets. The K. J. A man was afterward detailed to watch him, as his actions evidenced desperation. Laid Ills Head Across the Rail. His uneasiness did not subside. In a short time he started from his room, anl when questioned by tbe attendant about his mission, Todd replied that he wps going for a drink. The next s:ca of the apparently fren zied man was when he rushed across the street in partial nudity, and crawled beneath the rear car of the train which began to leave tho station. Two colored lads observed the man's actions and shouted at him to desist, but ho heeded them not. He dropped on his knees, laid bis head across the rail, and when the wheels passed over the head was severed from the body.
