The cooncil met pursuant to adjournment at 8 p. m Mayor Knox presiding, and all the alder, men present. Checks of unsuccess ful bidders on the Sixth ward sewer system were ordered returned, on motion of Aid. Dauber. Aid. Foss moved that the question of repairing washed out sidewalks be referred to the street and alley committee and city attorney, to report at the next meeting. Carried. Aid. Schroeder reported a conver sation with E. Ru Hedge, of the Rock ford Construction company, who. said that before talking abjut a proposition from the company, the city should make a formal demand under its bonds. He therefore moved that when the council ad journ it be till 2 p. m. Thursday to Inspect the streets, and decide what is wanted. . Carried. Aid. Maucker moved that a com mittee of three be appointed, in con nection with the mayor, to ascertain if Twelfth street may be legally placed in passable condition, with power to act. Carried, and the mayor appointed Aids. Maucker, Nelson and Johnson as such com mittee. Aid. Kennedy, from the claims committee, reported adversely on the claim of U. L. It Joseph Fisher, charged in his trial in the circuit court with bur glary in Moline, is acquitted it will be because he was irresponsible when the crime was perpetrated.
