Mr. Baker says that there is only one carpenter working at the hospital now, and that he, like the bricklay ers and stone masons employed there. is a union man. and is paid for every hour of overtime that he works Commissioner Medill says that the announcement in the newspapers was the first intimation that he had that there was anything wrong.
