Walter Nolan, ef Chicago, won his light with Dan O'Leary last night by a clean knock-out in the 10th round, at Claiis Groth hall, Davenport. The ffght was given under the direction of the Tri-City Athletic club, in other words. Jack Leonard, and was refereed by Malachy Hogan of Chicago. It drew several hundred sports from Chicago, and other places, as well as the tri-cities, and Jack was well in hand probably after the purse of f 850 had been counted. Honors between the two fighters were fairly even up to the concluding round, when Xolan lauded a stiff punch on O'Leary 's belt. It sent the hardy pugilist to the floor and he had struggled back no farther than his knees when he shook his head to the referee's count of 10. The fight was to have been 15 rounds, but the crowd was satisfied .with it and Jack s future as a promoter was assured. He expects now to match Jimmy Barry for a fight in the same hall a'month hence.
