The question of flec tion of two additional missionary bisheps in Asia was resumed, and after debate the committee report was adopted, providing for two additional bishops, lhere was no choice on tbe seventh ballot. The eighth ballot was taken, after which the report of the committee on itinerarv was read regarding the time limit on pastorates. The recommenda tion of-the committee was to tbe effect that they abolish the rule of the Meth odist church that no p.istor occupy one pulpit for a period of more than liVe years. A lively discussion fol lowed. The minority report was also read, providing that a liveyear pastor ate only be extended at the request of three-fourths of the membership of the quarterly conference, and the pas torate in no case to be extended for more than a second term of live years.
