Better Than Gold
"I was troubled for several years
with chronic indigestion and nervous
debility," writes F. .7. Green, of Lan
caster, X. H. "No remedy helped me
until I began using Electric Bitters,
which did m more good than all the
medicines I ever used. They have al
so kept my wife in excellent health
for years. She says Electric Bitters
are just splendid for female troubles;
that they are a grand tonic and invig
orator for weak, run down women.
Xo other medicine can take its place
in our family." Try them. Only 50

GOVERNOR YATES ON THE
OBSERVANCE OF ARBOR LAY
Gov. Yates has issued a proclama-
ion designating Friday, April 24, as
rbor day in this state, lie says:
The forests of this country are of
rent economic value. It is esti-
uted that the annual consumption
f wood is at least twice as great as
the annual growth. Aside, therefore,
from beautifying the home surround-
gs anil tlie public grounds and high
ays, it is good public policy to in
crease the practical knowledge which
nay lead in due time to u restoration
f the balance. For these reasons 1
iirge in an especial way that the
work of planting trees on the
-rounds of schools of all grades be
ontinueJ, and that all teachers em
ployed by the state or any district
provide for suitable instruction in the
are of trees and their importance.
In the eelebratic.-n of Arbor day by
the schools and educational institu
tions it would be also appropriate, al
though it is not especially enjoined
iy our statute, to eouple with study
f trees, lessons on the value of our
)irds and the great Importance ;f
their protection. The. -young people
f Illinois cannot .have too great an
tppreciation of- natural or-too keen
x sense of thetrelation, between her
many beauties and utilities.
Mysterious Circumstance.
One was pale and sallow and the
other was fresh and rosy. Whence
the difference?. She who is blushing
with health uses Dr. King's New Life
Pills to maintain it. By gently arous
ing the lazy organs they compel good
digestion and head off constipation.
Try them. Only 23 cents, at Ilartz &
Ullemeyer's, druggists.
