IN BERRY'S RECORD
Thrice Violates Penitentiary Parole
Comes to This City From
More of the record of Isaac Bern'
the negro found under a bed in the
Phillips boarding house, on Sixteenth
street, last week, has come to Sheriff
W. G. Heider in a letter from V. J.
Randolph, chief of police at Golconda,
111. Chief Randolph states that Berry
served a term In the Chester peniten
tiary. He was twice paroled to citi
zens of Golconda, and in each instance
violated the same. The first time he
ran away he was recaptured and re
turned to the prison. The parole board
again released him, and after behav
ing for a brief period he disappeared,
and was not heard from until he com
mitted a crime in Missouri, for which
he was sentenced to the penitentiary.
In Missouri, Chief Randolph states, he
was paroled also. He was out on par
ole when he came to Rock IslanS.
Berry is in jail here held in J 1,000
bond on a charge of burglary.
