While returning home along the Rock Island tracks near Eleventh street. East Moline, last evening about G o'clock after a visit with friends, Hen ry Simon and Phororlde De Doever, both of East Moline, were struck by an eastbound Rock Island freight train and scrlouslv injured. Just as the train had passed Eleventh street the engineer noticed a shawl on the pilot of the engine and brought his train to a stop. Persons near the scene of the accident heard moanings, and discov ered both victims lying along the tracks, Simon unconscious and tue girl thouga in a conscious condition, suffer ing great agony. Tho examination is open to boys between the ages of 1 1 and 20 years. The position pays $3C0 per annum. PROMINENT WOMAN PASSES Mrs. Victoria Wigren of Galva Suc cumbs to Attack of Apoplexy. Mrs. Victor A. Wigren, a prominent young woman of Galva. died at her heme yesterday. Her husband is the cashier of the First National bank of Galva, and the family is well known.
