It has since been our custom to give to the people of Davenport and vicinity once each year, an opportunity to purchase their Linen wants at ACTUAL WHOLESALE PRICES. Following our usual custom we, on Monday morning, commenced our Twenty-fifth Annual Linen Sale. A year ago we did not believe we would be able to duplicate the prices prevailing at that time. Linens have been advancing steadily, and it was only natural for us to doubt our ability to continue selling them at the old prices. However, by a little foresight on our part, we succeeded in getting our orders placed before the advance, which means that you will purchase here during this Anniversary Sale, Linens at to 10 per cent under the present WHOLESALE PRICES. That these Annual Linen events have been appreciated by cur customers, no one can deny that is attested to by the great number vho take advantage of this opportunity. Remember, these goods were all pur chased by us months ago long before the advance, and at prices we quote you, we can conscientiously say, each and every item is much below the regular wholesale price of today. Heretofore we have made this a two weeks' sale, hut we are compelled to reduce this one to 10 DAYS. The scarcity of desirable merchandise, and the very sharp advance in prices in the Linen Market compels us, and we do so reluctantly. Prudent people won't need a second call. Linens are here plentifully, and at prices to please all. Now t i is the best time to supply your linen wants for the year. Sale commenced today, Monday, Jan. 22, and closes Wednesday, Feb. 7.
