FORCE TO BE REDUCED
Order of the Reck Island Affects the
The Rock Island has issued an order
for a 15 per cent reduction in all of
the shops, including the motive power
and car department at Silvis. The Sil-
vis shops are also to resume the eight
hour schedule, with a half day's work
on Saturday. TIio retrenchment pol
icy is in full swing, and the measures
are due to an extent to the existing
financial difficulties, it is said.
