COUNTY BOARD IS
TO BE ENLARGED
Five Additional Members Will
Qualify at the Organiza
tion of New Body.
SIX ARE TO BE RETIRED
Political Complexion Four Demo
crats and 33 Republicans-
- Richmond Returns.
On the face of the returns from
the township elections throughout the
county, it appears that the incoming
board of supervisors will consist of
four democrats and 34 republicans.
The republican gain in the board is
due to the increase in the number of
supervisors from Rock Island and Mo
line, both cities now having 10 repre
sentatives, where formerly Rock Is
land had eight and Moline seven. The
complexion of the board as far as the
country is concerned remained at it
was except that T. R. Lees, democrat.
Coal Valley, was elected over his re
publican opponent, John McGimpsey,
who was thereby retired from the
board. This, gain of the democrats
was balanced in Moline where M. W.
Battles, the only democratic supervis
or, was defeated for reelection.
FEW TO RETIRE.
Only six members of the board
which sat for the last time last month
will fail to appear when the next
board convenes. These are M. W. Bat
tles, M. R. Carlson, and E. I. East
man of Moline, Herman Doering of
Rock Island. John McGimpsey of Coal
Valley, and J. H. Bendle of Drury. M.
R. Carlson and E. L. Eastman of Mo
line were not candidates for re-election
as both were successful candi
dates as members of the commission
in that city. The new members of
the board are Charles Hogberg, B. R.
Stow, I. A. Minteer, Charles Brun
strom A. G. Swanson and E. H.
Sleight, all republicans of Moline; A.
J. Riess, William Gahagen and J. G.
Swanson. republicans of Rock Island;
T. R. Lees, democrat, coal valley;
and James Fowler, republican of
Drury. The latter was elected over
Milton Miller, his democratic oppon-
ent by a vote of 59 to 52.
RICHMOND FOR CHAIRMAN?
The return to the hoard of Super
visor George H. Richmond of South
Rock Island makes it seem probable
that he will be reelected to the chair
manship of he board. Mr. Richmond
has held that position for the past
two years and has been very accepta
ble to the majority of the members.
He has not so announced but it is
understood that he will be a candidate
for the position.

My hair was as white as snow when I commenced using

70 years old, I consider the result most remarkable. It is an
agreeable and refreshing hair dressing, keeping the hair soft
