The southwest new wheat movement is be coming large. Cool weather prevailed over most of west yesterday. Highest temperatures in Oklahoma were 96. Canada and the northwest were cool yesterday with more rains. Oats visi ble fails to reduce liberally and crop promise is 1.150,000 to 1,800,000. All grains appear in a bulge sale position. Some of the oats bears talk thirty-five cents. Chicago holds about 3,000.000 corn and delivery day is tomorrow. De liveries should be moderate. High average condition of the new corn crop continues. The quick changes in wheat yesterday encour aged the bears, but will tend to check pressure on breaks. Liverpool comes 7s lower and givps us a chance to cre ate new low points in first hour. We hive received another batch of corn reports from Iowa. Nebraska, Illinois and Ohio. The condition of corn is high, reports running 90 to 100 per cent. Damage done to corn In southwest and south by thj three or four days' hot spell is not extensive. Poor corn conditions exist in the section men- tl-ned. but damage claims as yet are slight. Wheat opened with pressure and prices to 4 low er and following opening there was further decine of 4 to , with easy undertone on American crop advices, favorable harvesting weather with easiness in vpot here and lack of sup port. At 1:30 undertone was easy to weak with prices to ? lower than yesterday. Corn opened with prices 4 lower and declined 4 with undertone easy on weakoess in America, predictions of better Argentine weather which led The wheat decline Of present week may be slow. Rallies will result if assisted by apprehension in the north. The experts are now due to invade the northwest and Canada. Any ad vance in wheat before July 12 will, of course, place the market in shape for the bear attacks that often result in the last part of Jul;. One or two houses have' come out friendly to wheat on the basis that the world's stocks will remain depleted until near September despite chances of a giant July movement. While the weekly weather forecast with its dry tendency is favorable to corn prices we must record the fact that our reports Of yesterday from the big states are high. They run 90 to 100 condition from a vast member of districts and indicate a condition of near 8S on July 8. Just as long as the seven surplus states show a high average corn prom ise December corn will hardly .ad vance permanently. Our oats reports from central west are again mixed. Mainly poor. The July oats promise will evidently be 1.130.000 to 1,180,000.000. Outlook in central west will prevent an above 1, 200.000.000 crop. The tendency of oats to seek the 35c level is undoubtedly half due to the liberal corn outlook. Oats have discounted the July 8 report so exten sively that selling caution is now due. The swift switch in wheat of to-H day is an indication of a 600.000.000 winter wheat yield. It is another sign that the winter wheat flood will over lap elevators and fill cars In a few days. Irresistible movement. The general grain investment mood is soft. Occasional advances in the old corn crop months are expected. The 70 per cent corn spots to date are in Oklahoma and the southern states. J Our reports indicate that Europe is now buying wheat for later shipment dates. Her urgent purchases msy be completed. Total of $226,000 Revenue Will Be Derived From the Peoria District. A little more than $226,000 will have to be collected this evening from those in the Peoria revenue district who come under the provisions of the fed eral income tax law. This is the last day for payment. Rock Island, Peo ria. Knox. Stark. Marshall, Bureau, Putnam. Henry, Warren, Mercer and Henderson counties 'are Included in tha district. Amounts paid by individuals vary from a few cents to $40,000, and the business of receiving them has kept the force of clerks in the office of Col lector Edward McCabe at Peoria busy as bees. A penalty attaches to non payment before July 1. Collector McCabe is in receipt of a telegram from Congressman Stone, the substance of which is that he has been told by treasury officials that the time might be extended for commencing prosecutions against persons who fail ed to schedule by March 31 last, as re quired by the law. Some were sensi tive al jut telling their incomes. They hung onto the willows of hope that sonrethfng might turn up which would render unnecessary taking the govern ment into their confidence. But it didn't turn up and the derelict individ uals find themselves facing a penalty of $20 in addition to their taxes while the corporations face $50. The congressman states that the sen ate has passed a resolution in which the house is expected to concur waiv ing the penalty of $20 and $50 for failure to schedule this year and that it no doubt will include the refunding of such penalties already paid or "of fers to compromise," Specifically the law provides that in cases or rauure to schedule incomes by March 31, the offender would be liable to an addition of 50 per cent of the amount of the tax in addition, but not less than $20 in cases of individ uals or $50 in case of corporation. " Collector McCabe says: "While this information from Congressman Stone is not authentic, it might authorize me to extend the time in which to accent tenders of compromise." Until authentic information is receiv ed, however, it is likely that the ma chinery will continue to grind. tf fraction . 1 Watch fower Park SUNDAY, JULY 5TH ; Afternoon and Evening . Wheat has been sold down to a point where the rate of decline should be very slow for a few days. General wheat news is unchanged. Europe has dropped its buying for urgent shipment and current demand is small for all positions. Private reports say spring wheat is not injured by rains. Weekly weather report Indicates about a dozen of cotton states will only raise 65 to TO per cent of a corn crop. Been hot and dry there all June. Oats are off 3 cents and should be near bottom of decline. Snow's July report not bearish on oats at the de cline. Corn promises rallies on southern damage, but fine promise of the seven big states will count on bulges. It will be the end of July before Chi cago has a liberal stock of new wheat. Local provision men are very bullish on October ribs. Better Liverpool wheat caole due to morrow. Weather cool June 27 to 30, and fore cas'. unsettled. Notice to Property Owner.
