instructive paper on a case of ununited
fracture in the lower third of the femur
treated by a modification of the Physic
iplint, devise J by him and used with the
most succe&iful and gratifying results.
Dr. Craig ala exhibited the splint which
was examined with great interest and
highly commended by all present.
Dr. Warren Hunter brought to the at
tention of the association a case of ne
crosis of the Libia, the result of a gun
wound received during the early part of
the civil war; giving a history of the case,
after which the patient was examined by
the surgeons present.
Dr. J. B. Divison read an interesting
paper on the "Care of Women During the
Puerperal State" and which was followed
ty a general i discussion in which Drs.
Eyster, Plummer, Baker and Hunter

physician of Davenport, reported the
prevalence or diphtheria and scarlatina
in Davenport had largely subsided in the
last three months, but that there had
been much typhoid fever and more
pneumonia pievailing in the city than he
