Evictions Beg-na at Adrian, Pa.
Bradford, Pa., Jan. 1L An Era special
from Punxsutawney, Pa., sfvys. the evictions
benn yesterday. Several families were
ejected at Adrian. The parties evicted took
lodging with their friends and their house
hold effects were taken charge of by the
miners' committee. No resistance was at
tempted, tout trouble is expected. The com
pany give men the option of going to work
at the old rates or being evicted. The men
seem to prefer the latter.
The "Bine Envelope" on the Erie.
Buffalo, N. Y., Jan. 11. The blue envel
ope has again made its appearance on the
Erie railroad. Conductor Brooks, of the
Horndlsville division, is one of the victims;
alno Conductor John Gavin, of the Bradford
division. Two freight conductors have also
br-er. discharged. No reason is furnished by
the officials for this wholesale discharge, and
the mon are given little satisfaction when
they apply at the office for redress.

Leasing Canadian Trout Streams.

certain salmon rivers and trout streams and
lakes in Canada, postponed from Thursday.

A Maniac Accidentally Killed.

ordinances of said citv. which were adopted
November 16th and December 16th 1889, respec
tively, and are entitled "An ordinance for the im
provement of Second avenue from the west line
of Fourteenth street to the west line of Ninth
street in the city of Rock Inland :" also. "An or
dinance for the improvement of Twentieth stree t
from the north line of First avenue to tbe south
line of Ninth avenue in tbe city of Rock Island
and for the levying of a special tax therefor.
