following call :
The democrats of IlVnols will meet In state
convention at Springfield on Wednesday, June 4,
KWO. for the purpose of nominating candidates for
the following elate officers to be voted foron Tues
day, November 4th, 1890, to wit ;
One Superintendent of Public Tnstmc'ion. and
Three Trnatees of the University of Illinois
A t the meeting of the state central committee
the following resolution was. passed, and an ex-
riression of views, as in said' resolution asked, is
nvited. Tho chairman and secretary of each
connty convention are requested to report the ac
tion of their respective conventions to the t ecre
tury of the state central committee ss soon as it

"Inasmuch as itie propriety of nominating a
candidate for toe United States senate by the
state convention , has been extensively agitated
