ROCK ISLAND, MONDAY, DECEMBER 22, ISSO.

The London's Great Scoop Sale began this morning at 8
a. m. and will last a short time only as such bargains are
bound to be gobbled up.
The old saying that:
, "THE PROOF OF THE PUDDING IS THE EATING THEREOF,"
can be readily exemplified not only by tlic unheard oHow prices, but to farther prove
that this is a bona fide sale wc below mention plainly the manufacturer's name from
whom this great stock was purchased, viz: Goldsmith, Klaw & Co., OD-IOI West
Third street, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Gash is King! Pluck is Courage! Push is Enterprise!
With the above combination the London won the day and carried off the great prize at 55c
on the dollar. You know what 55c on the dollar means; it means goods retailed at 20 per
cent less than manufacturers, cost, or from 45 to 60 per cent less than regular wholesale

A BAD C'Ol'tiH.
Many people fancy that a
hacking cough is an insepara
ble accompaniment of increas
ing age. Others go about
coughing and snuffing, without
much attempt to alleviate their
troubles. Thia was the case
with John A. Bush, the well
known Odd Fellow and manu
facturer of regalias. He had an
obstinate cough that kept him
'laidw up" half the time. He
thought that perhaps it came
in part from his calling as
painter, and he let it go. 'At
last it became eo painful that
he was alarmed. He began to
cough up mucus, 6treaked oc
casionally with blood. There
was a tightness across his chest
that boded no good in the fu
ture. Mr. Bush took all the
popular medicines . of the day,
with no avail. Finally a drug
gist told him that Reld's German
Uough and Kidney cure was
guaranteed to cure the worst
cough or cold. By this time he'
had become convinced that
nothing would do him any
good. He was in despair, so
that there was nothing in the
nature of the faith cure to help
the medicine, but to Mr. Bnau's
surprise he began to mend on
taking it, and by the time he
had taken the second bottle he
was a well man. His old hack
ing cough has left him, and Mr.
Bush is restored to perfect
health. He says. You cannot
say too much for Keid's German
Cough and Kidney Cure. It is
tbe most wonderful medicine I
ever tried." This i the gen
