izoodic" epidemic. Dr. Gentry wa3 in
clined to believe that the earth at inter
vals parsed through a stretch of space
impregnated with what astronomers cail
"star dust." Several days ago it occurred
to him that he might trap some of the
dust or microbes. Carefully polishing a
blank miecroscope slide he took it out
doors and passed U through the air. Plac
ing the elide unaer his microscope fce
counted seven heretofore unidentified mi
crobes oa the field of the instrument. He
had the slide mounted audthea obtaining
some mucous from a patient afflicted with
la grippe, he found m it n.icro bes identi
fied in every respect with those caught in
the air. Not only does the doctor think
he has discovered the direct cause of all
the aching bones, sore lungs, watering
eyes, bad medicine and big bills from the
medical fraternity, but he claims to have
found the cure as well. The germs are
very plentiful in the air, and when seen
under the microscope look different from
the microbe of tny oiher disease. lu
shape they are like a pinwhet-1, the center
pear like and have fourteen stripes of
black and white from the outer edge.
The remedy is Russian fresh water
sponge, or botanic ally "badiage," a med
icine which, in over doses, produces the
same symptoms that attend la grippe.
