New York, Oct. 5. There is an heiress
to the house of Cleveland. The ex-president's
wife presented him with a daugh
ter Saturday at their home, 816 Madison
avenue. Little Miss Cleveland was born
at six minutes after midnight. She tipped
the scales at eight pounds, and after test
ing her lungs fell into a quiet slumber.

The Liberal Meeting Denonnced. (
Lokdos, Oct. 5. At a meeting In Hydo
park yesterday, attended by several thou
sand workmen, resolutions were passed
denouncing the Liberal federation at New
castle for having suppressed free speech
and neglected the interests of the labor
classes in order to give precedence to Irish
home rule. It was resolved that the fed
