last meeting were read and approved.

March were read and ordered phced on

tee, reported the audit of the monthly
bills and offered an ordinance allowing the
same which was unanimously adopted to

right to lay a second track on the right of

Fifth avei.ue and moved its adoption.
Aid. Bladel moved as an amendment that
the same be referred back to the ordi
nance committee. Amendment lost and
original motion carried, 10 to 1 (Blade!).
Aid. Durmann submitted the commis
sioner's report for the construction of the
Seventeenth street sewer by special as
sessment, in the total sum of 1,C17. On
motion the report was received and
Aid. Durmann moved that the city aU
torney be instructed to file a petition in
the county conrt for proper proceedings
according to law in the matter of the
Seventeenth street sewer. Motion car
ried. Aid. Durmann. from the sewer com
mittee reported n the petition of the
committee from the board of supervisors
of Rock Island county far permission to
connect with the Thirteenth street sewer
a withdrawal of same and that the com
mittee modified their petition to be al
owed to build a sewer on Fourteenth
la'.reet from Secand to Fifth avenue. All.

view of settling damages occasioned by
