12:05; No. 22, tbe new Denver express
going east, will leave here at 11:42 a. m.
and will leave Chicago coming west at
10:45 a. m. and arrive here at 3:18 in the
afternoon . The Council Bluffs. Minne
apolis & St. Joe going west in the eves

The Omaha and Denver express coine

3:12 instead of 3:28 as formerly. The
Kansas City and Denver night train
leaves at 10:47 instead of 10:55 p. ra., and
the Stuart. Iowa. (Atlantic) express
will leave going west at 9 a. m. instead
of 8.45 as before. The latter run having
now been extended to La Salle, the Chi

at 9 o'clock a. m. hereafter. The Coun

tbe Kansas City and Denver leaves east

Tbe officers of tbe Jacksonville South
eastern have not decided upon the route
from Canton. This much was assured
n.nfiueer uimstead. Two routes present
themselves from that place and the ene
that in their opinions is tbe best will be
adopted by the company . One way is
by tbe direct line to Rock Island . This
will take them nearly through Galetburg
and tliet city will get tbe road. This
pi tin has most serious disadvantages
The route parallels tbe Fulton county
narrow gauge and tbe Buda & Rusbviile
and the Peoria branches of tbe ' Q ' oc !
tbe southeast of Oalesburg. From that
city to Rock Island and Moline there is
the Rio branch an i the St. Louis & Rock
Inland division. The prospect for good
business through that territory is not
very encouraging. Monmowh Review,
The engines from Davenport will be
brought over here on Monday, and this
will hereafter be their home, but passen
ger trains will not be made up here for
several weeks yet, as it will be necessary
to change tbe east arch of tbe round house
before it can be done without mre or
less delay. The ice house, which is now
full of ice, is in the way, and until some
disposition can be made of it tbe passen
ger trains will continue to be made np
on the other side of the river.
The new Denver limited over theC, R
I. & P. which will be put on Sunday will
be a beauty and a flyer. Tbe coaches
are all brand new from the Pullman shops
with Pinisch gas and steam fixtures and
finished in luxuriant style. She will have
schedule time of 42 miles an hour, and
will reduce the time on all previous time
cards between this city and Cbicaga
about 35 minutes.
James McQuade, formerly of this city.
and now running an engine out of Omaha
on the C, K. & N , was united in mar
riage on Wednesday in Geneseo to Miss
Lizzie Kennedy, and in the evening the
happy couple left for Omaha, which will
be their future home. Both are well and
favorably known here and have hosts of
friends who will wish them much joy and
prosperity through life.
Every inch of space room in the C , R
I & P. round bouse is now being utilized
by Master Mechanic Stock in order to
make a place for the extra engines that
will be brought over here the first of tbe
month. In the space that was formerly
used for tbe master mechanic's office,
two engine stalls are being put in and
other minor changes made about tbe
Master Mechanic Stock, of the C, R.
L & P., has moved into his new office
near the round house. The painters are
just putting tbe finishing touches to it,
and also the interior of the engineers'
room which adjoins it. Tbe new office
is bright and cheerful and a more desira
ble location than the old one.
Lnder tbe new time table that goes
into effect on the C. R. I. & P. on Bun
day, the Atlantic express will be changed
making two runs instead of one. One
will be from Stuart, Iowa, to Rock Island
and tbe other from Rock Island to La
8alle. 111. Tbe o'd time Atlantic express
ran the same way. 5
The painters' car is again in the C , R.
I. & P. yards and the inside of the pas
sengerdepot is being treated to a new coat
of paint. The new telegraph office will
also receive a touching up at tbe hands
The accident insurance company that
had the nickel in the slot machines in the
C . R-1 & P. depots, has taken them
out all along the line. During the thre?
years that tbe machine was in the depot
here on policy of $500 was paid.
Nine C, R. I. & P. freight crews that
formerly had their headquarteis at Tren
ton, Mo., will be transferred xt week
to Davenport. They will probably be
sent over to this side of tbe river when
business opens up again.
