Da. Q. C. Osoood,
Castoria is the best remedy for children of
which I am acquainted. I hope the day is not
far distant when mothers will consider the real
interest of their children, and use Castoria in
stead of the rariousquack nostrums which are
destroying their loved ones, by forcing opium,
morphine, soothing syrup and other hurtful
agents down their throats, thereby sending
them to premature graee."

" Our physicians in the children's depart

Pbineas T. Barnum as one i f the im
mortals he lays down his burden and
passes away. The old showman was as
popular almost as the American flag. He
was always an amusing personality. His
theory was to make every visitor feel
that he had received his money's worth
and he seldom failed, even when the
objects on exhibition were small things
compared with what we have known
latterly as the "Greatest Show on Earth."
Barnum is gone, but his active, astute,
youthful partner, James A. Bailey, is
alive, and under his management in the
future, as it has been during the past
dozen years, the Barnum & Bailey show
will grow greater and grander every year.
Barnum & Bailey had articles of agree
ment drawn expressly stipulating that 'in
case of death of either the show would go
on" as usual. This agreement was also
made binding upon the respective heirs
and assigns, so that it became and Is an
absolute and imperative condition . The
announcement is now outhoritativelv
made by the sole surviving partner, J, A
Bailey, that the show will continue, and
that in nothing in the future will the
public be able to discover the slightest
change, either in the policy or the char
acter of the Greatest Show on Earth.
The capital cf I3.500.00U which Is equal
ly invested in the institution will remain
intact: that in all particulars it will be
the same show, except as it may be en
larged or increased yearly in accordance
with the well known policy of V r. Bailey,
the manager. The latter gentleman will
continue to exercise sole authority in the
organization, equipment, and general
management. He has done so for many
years past, having always, however, con
sulted witb Mr. Jtarnum on important
matters while Mr. Barnum lived.
