Coaxhi the Wrong Hats.
Considerable funwas created the other
evening at one of the city hotels by two
of the republican supervisors from the
pper end going out after supper and
purchasing campaign hats. When they
bought them they weren't aware that
there was a similarity between Cleveland
and Harrison bats, and when they re
turned to the hotel they surprised their
brother supervisors by appearing in
democratic regalia. After a good laugh
and a treat all around they all promised
to say nothing about It, but it was too
late to exchange the hats and tne pair
carried home their headgear securely
wrapped in paper.
A Painral Accident.
A. Loeb was brought home yesterday
afternoon from Iowa, after having met
with a very painful accident. Wnile out
riving at Luzerne, Iowa, the team took
fright at a traction engine, and becoming
unmanageable, threw both the driver and
Mr. Loeb to the ground, the latter falling
in such a manner as to sustain a fracture
of the collar bone, besides several bruises
about the bod r. He was picked up and
given medxal attendance, and yesterday
brought to his home in this city. His in
juries are quite painiui, ana win layjmm
up for some time.
