I feel it m duty to say a few words in
regard to Ely's Cream Balm, and I do bo
entirely without solicitation. I have used
it more or less half a year, and have
tonne it to be most admirable. I have
suffered from catarrh of the worst kind
ever since I was a little boy and I never
hoped for cure, but Cream Balm seems to
do even that. Many of my acquaintances
have used it with excellent results. Oss
sarOstrum, 45 Warren Ave., Chicago.
What the Hon. George G. Vest says m
regard to the superiority of the Hirsch
berg's diamond and non-changeable spec
tacles: "I am using glasses which I purchased
from Prof, irschberg and they are thtf
best I ever tried; it affords me great
pleasure to recommend Prof. Hirschberg
as an excellent optician, and his glasses
are simply unequalled in my experience

Dr. Miles' Nervine not only cures all
nervous diseases, headache, blues, ner
vous prostration, sleeplessness, neuralgia,
St. Vitus dance, fits and hysteria, but also
builds up the body. "I am pleased to
say that after years of intense suffering
with nervous disease, headache and pros
tration, I tried Dr. MileB' Restorative
Nervine, and in two weeks gained eight
pounds in weight. I could not lie down
o sleep, but now sleep perfectly easy
and am still improving wonderfully
Cannot say enough for the nervine.

Admitted the Facts.
Newspaper editors nave to be very
careful in opening their columns for state'
ments. But aware that the Dr. Miles
Medical Co. are responsible, we make
room for the following testimonial from
R. McDougall, Auburn, Ind., who for two
years noticed a stoppage or skipping of
the pulse, his left side got so tender he
could not lie on it, his heart fluttered, he
was alarmed, went to different doctors.
found no relief, but one bottle of Dr
Miles' New Heart Cure cured him. The
elegant hook, "New and Startling Facts,'
free at Hartz & Bahnsen's. It tells all
about heart and nervous diseases and
many wonderful cures.
Things Worth Remembering,
Wben you feel a kind of goneness about
the stomach it is a sign that your food
does rot sit well, and that you are about
to have a fit of indigestion.
When you begin to feel nervous and
are unable to sit still comforably; when
your clothes suddenly seem to lose their
fit and become too tight in places, the fit
of indigestion is surely upon you
Wbrn this fit of indigestion is repeated
from day t-i day it finally resolves itself
Remember that three to 10 of Bran
dreth's PilU will cure the worst case of
indigestion or dyspepsia, or both, and
that a regular course of them, sty two
ever? nl"ht for a week or 10 days, will
act as a preventive of either complaint
Medical Knowledge Applied.
Disease is a weakness or loss of vital
force in some part of the body.
The success of the treatment is due to
the fact that the physician applies his
Knowledge in bis practice and employs
such remedies only as strt ngthes the
body in all its parts and at the sine time
fortifies and conserves the vital forces.
In disease some part of the body is not
performing its work.
In catarrh the physicians of the Scott
Medical institute find a fault of the mu
cous membranes of the nose, and at the
same time a fault of some other part of
the body. These associated complicate
catarrh . .
In order to cure, the physicians of the
Scott Medical Institute apply such treat
ment to tho nose as tend to restore the
parts to a normal condition, and at the
same time they give such remedies as
will correct the other accompanying
Tbey do this by regu'ar medical treat
ment. They have no specifics, no tlec
trical appliances, no magnetic healing
system, and no charms or fetish.
Tbev assert no otner power man spec
ial knowledge of a special subject.

cases, such as the following:
CAT AURAL DEAFNESS.
"1 have had catarrh for iue past nine years,"

(nffered from severe heartaches, especially over
my eye. The catarrn attacKeu my earn anu i
wa compelled to take treat-rent. I had buzzing
and roariofr noises in my ears so that 1 was parti
ally deaf for two years.
A. O. BBBOBAH,
Cor. 14th St. and 13th Ave. Mollne, 111.
I wa advised to no to the Scott Institute and-
sir. In oni mo.itu my beiriug has been entirely
restored. I have now no Dttin in mv head or
chest and I fee. well and have only treated one
month. I conscientiously advise all afflicted to
take my same coarse of treatment."

John Prince the long-distance bicycle
rider, who cut a swell here and in Dav
enport a year or bo ago. and then disap
neared without doing anything, did
really ride against a horse at Quincy
few days ago. He was to make five
miles on his wheel while a horse was
making four and three-quarters. When
two and a half miles had been done by
him he was close up to the horse, but
was unable to gain on the animsl, and
soon began to lose ground. Presently on
the back stretch, he fell off hi? wheel.
When people came up to him he was
groaning with a terrible cramp in his left
leg. The crowd did not accept this state
ment. Prince does not seem to have
changed for the belter since be was
here. He is still the same old fake he
was when be guyed the tri city sports
