Marriage of Charles Headberg and Miss
Hilda Johnson LastKvenlna;.
At the home of John E. Johnson and
wife. 923 Seventh avenue, at 8 o'clock
last night occurred the marriage of their
daughter. Miss Hilda, to Charles Head -berg.
Tbe interior of the home was hand
somely decorated for the occasion, and
tbe ceremony was performed in the
front parlor by Rev. C. E. Taylor,
of the First Baptist church. The couple
were attended by Charles E. Johnsoo.
brother of the bride, and Miss Anna Sie-
mon, groomsman and groomsm&id.respec
tively. After tbe ceremony and congrat
ulations were over a delicious wedding
spread was served to tbe friends and rel
atives of tbe contracting parties who
were present, and several hours spent in
making merry over the joyous event.
Mr. Headberg, tbe vroom. is a ma
chinist at tbe plow works and extremely
popular among his associates, while his
bride, who is well known in Rock Island,
has hosts of friends who will wish them
much jov and prosperity through life.

The Rock Island County Fair associa
tion held a special session at Port Byron
last Saturday, to decide upon tbe grounds
of the fair in the future. The commit
tee composed of Messrs. Wendt, Block
and Asbdown, reported havirjg inspected
all available sites and the only one that
could be had was the leabe of tbe old
grounds at $60 rer year for 10 years. It
was decided to accept this and by tbe
lease of enough extra land at $10 a year
to put in a regulation half-mile track. A
committee composed of Messrs. Wendt.
Asbdown and Hunt was delegated to em
ploy a surveyor and estimate the cost of
the improvement, etc , and the associa
tion adjourned subject to tbe call of tie
Tbe great comedy success, "Aunt
Bridget's Baby," is to be seen at Harper's
theatre tonight. Tbe New York Times
"Aunt Bridget's Baby" was the attrac
tion at the Fourteenth street theatre last
night. Aunt Bridget, in tbe person of
George Monroe, is as rollicking and as
voluble as ever, and tbe Baby is as
sprightly and as graceful as formerly
1 be performance pleased a very large
audience. Tbe f cenery and costumes de
serve special mention, both being in ex
celled taste and harmony.
The funny comedy, "Hoss and Hoss,'
is to be presented at the Burtis at Dav
enport Sunday evening. It is reported
to be one of tbe most successful come
dies on tbe road, and will draw a large
audience no doubt.
Future attractions of unusual interest
at tbe Burtis this season will be Gilmore's
famous band Nov. 3. and Mr. and Mrs
Drew Nov. 4.
