Tbe "Burr Oaks" company came in
late yesterday afternoon, unheralded, and
played to a small house in Harper's
theatre inconsequence.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Drew are to ap
pear at Harper's theatre tomorrow even
ing. This promises to be a particularly
fine attraction. In addressing an audi
ence in Washington, D. C after bis per
formance of the Henrietta, and knowing
that the Drews were to appear on tbe
following night, Mr. Robson came be
fore the curtain and made tbe following
comment:
"Ladies and gentlemen, you have been
so kind to me and my company this week
I feel encouraged to ask you to extend
be same cordial reception to Mr.and Mrs.
Sidney Drew, who will appear here Mon
day night. This talented young couple
will appear in "That Girl From Mexico."
I know it is a good play, for I wrote Dart
of it myself. Sidney Drew is a son or Mrs.
John Drew.one of tbe - most famous' and
worthy American artirts and a brother of
John Drew, for many years tbe leading
actor in Daly's famous stock company.
Sidney Drew made a great bit some
years ago in "The Magistrate" in a part
wnich gave full merit to bis eccentric
humor. Mrs Sidney Drew is a daugh
ter of McKr e Rankin of "The Danites"
fame, "In Honor Bound" the one act
curtain raiser, whicb will wrh "That
Girl From Mexico," make tbe double, is
a gem which Roina Vokes introduced to
theAmerican public some five years ago."
This endorsement coming as it does
from one of America's most prominent
actors speaks for itself.
