Eaves. Mrs William dibbs and child ren, of tho Boy ki ri section spout last week with relatives in the Ebenezer section. Mr. J. Brasiugton left Satur day night to visit his family in Baltimore, and will take in tho Exposition while away. Wo are pleased to learn that Mrs W. R. Grice. who went to the Baker Hospital at Sumter lust week for treatment is get ting along nicely. Wo aro glad to report that Dr. J. A. liaison, who has boen quite sick at homo, is able to sit up and receive his friends. Wo hope to see him out in a few days. Mrs. S, O. Thompson spent last week at her old homo near Rowland, at tho bedsido of her aged father Mr, A. Stewart, who was stricken with paralysis on the 28d, and died on tho 20th. DEATHS' DOINGS Thc sad news was received herc on Friday last of thc death of Mr. ARCHIH STU WA KT-tlic venerable father of Mr... S. O. Thompson of our town-at bis home near Rowland in Robeson count)'. He was stricken with paralysis on the evening of the 23d and lived until Friday when be calmly fell asleep in death. Mr. Stewart was a brave Confederate soldier, a faithful member of thc Metho dist church, a worthy citizen, nu indul gent parent, and a kind and generous neighbor. He leaves n devoted wife five sons and four daughters. The funeral services were held on the 27lb at the family burying ground near his residence, conducted by bis pastor, Rev. Ashby of the N. C. Conference. * * * Truly bas it been said that "in the midst of life we arc in death." On Mon day evening last, while sitting in the yard under the shade of a tree, talking to Mr. Quick, suddenly and without a warning, Mr. Sam Carter fell over dead. Tlie two bad just returned from the pond ami stopped in thc yard for a chat, when suddenly the end came. Mr. Carter bas been living for some time over in Hebron with Mr. Milton Quick, not far from the McDaniel mill pond. He bad been complaining some but none it serious. * * Died nt bis home in llrigbtsville on Thursday the 25th of April, 1907, after a short illness, Mr. Ebenezer Waters-aged 77 years. He was a worthy soldier in the Confederate service, a rpiiet, clever citizen, a member of thc Methodist ch., and died happy. He was laid tO rest in family burying ground on the 26th, Rev. Giles P, Newton conducting the service. - Sunday May G is Pythian Memorial Day. NEW SCHEDULE.
