The Sunday schools of tho town
will picnic at Dudley's Mill on
Wednesday next, 12th. The
Bennottsvillo and Cheraw Rail
road have kindly and generously
conaentsd to carry the crowd to
the grounds free of charge, The
train will leave the depot at 8.40
a. m. and return with the crowd
at 4.30 in tho afternoon. Pre
pare a good dinner and go.

DEATHS' DOINGS
Died at ber home in Brightsvillc on
Thursday May 30. 1907, nt 3 o'clock
after an illness of seven weeks of para
lysis, Mrs. Martha Hubbard wife of thc
late Martin Hubbard-aged 78 year. She
leaves three childred- two sons, Henry
and George und one daughter Mrs
Mary Owens.
She was n whole-soul Methodist and
a member of Boykin church.
The funeral services were conducted
by ber pastor Rev. P. H. lngraham on
Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock and thc
remains laid to rest in thc Hubbard
graveyard.
Died at bis home in this town on Sun
day afternoon June 2, 1907. after a short
illness, Mr. Tbroop Crosland, a well
known murcbant and citizen of our town.
Few knew that be was even sick before
death claimed bim. He was a brother
in-law of Senator McLauriu and leaves
a devoted wife several children and two)
brothers. Charles and George Crosland.
The funeral services were held at Oak
Ridge Cemetery on Monday afternoon :
at 4 o'clock by Rev. Chas A. Jones, of j
thc Baptist Church the remains laid to
rest under a mound covered with the
rarest of flowers.
We leave to the pen of another to pay
thc tribute due t J Iiis memory.

Maxton, was brought down Wednesday
morning, and thc funeral conducted |
