ing with the beginning of work on the
Imperial Canal system In April. 19W.
and extending down to date, and will
extend into the futtu-*.
Volume one consim of flfty photo
graphs 6 by S inches In size. This
album Is full.
Volume two consists of photographs
of the a&xne sixe and is also full
Volume three consists of photographs
of the came site and is nearly foil.
Volume four will accommodate one
hundred photographs 4*4 by 74 inches
In size. This album Is nearly half

Volume five will contain 200 pboto

In all, these fire albums with a
capacity for 4SO photographs now con
tain nearly 300 and will constitute
a very complete pictorial history of
the Reclamation of the Great Colorado
Delta and tfae formation of the largest
tract of irrigated laud under one b/s-

From the** photographs nearly one
hundred half-tone engravings have
been made for use In tixj Imperial
Press and Farmer. Illustrated pam
phlets and other publications.
These photographs are not mounted.
Additions are constantly being mad«
to the collection. Friends of the set
tlements who have any views of that
country are inviued to contribute to
the Imperial albums. More albums
will be provided as these are filled.

The new town of Imperial Is said
to ho growlnp at the rate of five peo
ple i* day. and new settlers arc going
in dally to other parts of the tract.
The greatest agricultural activity In
any new sections of Southern Cali
fornia at present Is undoubtedly at
the two so-called desert settlements
