in the Town of Tarboro' and for

Town of Tarborough, do enact and or
dain as follows :
Sec. I. That the east half of the lot desig
nated and described on the plan of said town
as Town Lot number fifty-six (50), ljing near
the County Jail on St. James street, and on
which a Market House has been recently
erected, shall be, and the same is hereby es
tablished as a public market plaoe for said
Sec. . No person or persons shall be per
mitted between the hours of three and eleven
o'clock in the forenoon to scil or purchase
any slaughtered beef, pork, mutton or lamb,
poultry or eggs, at any place within the cor
porate limits of said Town other than at the
market-place hereinbefore designated.
Any person violating the provisions of this
se ction, 6hall be subject to a penalty of Two
Dollars, recoverable before auy Justice of the
Peace having jurisdiction thereof.
Sec. o. The provisions ot this Ordinance
shall not be so construed as to prohibit the
sale or purchase ot pickled pork or beef at
at any time or place, or to prohibit the sale
or purchase of slaughtered bogs during the
mouths of December, January aud February.
