Putnam remembered their Kenna kin folks Christmas and sent us a box of fine California fruit. Miss Lexia Cooper, of Elk ins, is visiting at the home of W. 11. Cooper and family. W. B. Scott and wife took Christmas dinner with friends et Elida. W. B. returned home Monday evening, but Mrs. Scott remained to spend the week. J. A. Kimmons and wife and Joe Cooper and wife ate Christ mas dinner with the latter's parents, at th.9 Ranch house. While there he disposed of several Dozen brooms made from his own broom corn. Mr. C. II. Pago has opened his broom factory and is making about 3 dozen brooms per day. He has worked up corn for Rev. J. N. S. Webb, and S. S. Squire already, and has ,a quantity for S. L. Mardis, and Mrs. Brodeu- kamp, which will make in all about 150 dozen brooms, several others have small quantities. The straw is a good grado and Mr. Pago is making up a nice product. A large acrerage will he planted here another year and the broom factory enlarged. Henry Boyer is here from Walker Mo. visiting his Aunt Mrs. Bredenkamp and uncle John Verling. Will Horner has been spend ing several days in Roswell on business. Mis. Cordio Bishop and child ren have returned trom Roswell, to spend a few days at home with Mr. Bishop on the claim. Mr. A. L. Crowson i? busy haulipg cement from Ann and building a cement house on his claim. Mr. Crowson is a man who is a benefit to any community, as he is always busy and minding his own affairs. Alex. Ayers has returned to his claim, after spending some time at Terrell, Tex. S. S Squire is improving the looks of the town by removing the grubs off his property; thereby improving the property and getting warm twice, once by the work and again by the (ire. When Mr. Benz and the household goods ariive they will go out on their claim to finish out their time. Paul Troutner came up from Roswell Saturday to help his mother with the farm work.
