Meat & Grocery Co.
J. J. Harrison is buildig an ex
tontion to his hotel. The new
annex is 30x00 feet and two stories.
There will be a saloon and res
taurant down stairs.

A special meeting of the Terri
torial Hoard of Education was held
at 2 o'clock this afternoon in the
oflico of the superintendent of
public instruction at the Capitol.
Governor Ilagerman presided as
ox- oliicio president. Superin
tendent of Public Instruction,
Hiram Hadloy, was at his post as
secretary. There were prcse.it
Prof. W. G, Tight, of Albuqucr
que; Prof . C. AI. Light, of Silver
City, Prof. Edmond J. Vert, of
East Las Vegas, and Prof. Luthet
Foster, of Mesilla Park. Brother
K. Lewis, director of Si Michael's
College, ofthis city, was the only
absentee. He was unable to at
tend on account of indisposition .
The meeting today was called for
the purpose of discussing further
the proposed changes in the school
laws of the territory and especial
ly with regq d to the supervision
of the county schools. When ad
journment was taken it was decid
ed to have a conference at the ear
liest convenience with the joint
committees on education of the
Council and House of the Legisla
tive Assembly relative to the a
mendments and new legislation
proposed. New Mexican
