We learn that Oscar Locklear
of Puerto and Cage Dixon of Frio
Draw, have gone into the livery
stable business at Texico.
"Sandy" Morris was in Puerto,
Monday, trading, lie says his
sheep are doing well, but his range
is becoming stocked with so many
settlers, that he is afraid he will
have, to move in the spring.
Rev. Robinson, a Baptist minis
ter of Quay, preached to a large
and appreciative audience at tho
school house, Sunday.
We learn that Uncle Silas has
given up the post oflice and is cir
dilating a petition to establish a
new road.
Mrs. Geo. Yates of the plains
was a pleasant visitor in ruerto
last Saturdav.
Dan Yates, a prominent sheep
man of Corona, N. M., is visiting
his brother here. Dan used to be
a citizen of Puerto, and has many
friends here.
The farmers in the vicinity of
Puerto have been very busy plow
ing for sometime. We are glad to
