Pursuant to the call of the Chairman,
the Honorable Board of County Commis
sioners met in Special session, on February
4, at g a. in.
Members present: J. M. Hodges, Chair
man, and H.J. Darnell.
The Honorab:u Board now resolved it
self into a canvassing board, for the pur
pose of canvassing the votes cast for Con
stable and Justice of the Peace in the var
ious precincts, at the election held on Jan
uary 14, 1907. In Precinct No. i, it was
found that 221 votes were cast for Justice
of the Peace, of which E. P. Saxon re
ceived 129, and G. W. Anderson received
92. For Constable, 225 votes were cast;
J. F. Ward received 225. In Precinct No.
2, for Justice of the Peace, 14 votes were
cast, of which Patricio Sanchez received
i4. And for Constable, Thomas Duran re
ceived 14 votes. In Precinct No. 3, for
Justice of the Peace, 10 votes were cast, of
which W. T. Gibson received 9, and W.
T. Phipps received 1. In Precinct No. 4,
for Justice of the Peace, 50 votes were
polled, of which J. N. Stradley received 25
and W. H. Rush received 25. For Consta
ble, Josh Dristow received 30 votes, and
Oscar Locklear received 20 votes. The
Honorable Board found no returns from
Precinct No. 5. In Precinct No. 6, id
votes were cast, of which, for Justice of the
Peace, Pablo Gomez received 12 votes,
and J. W. Prunty received 6 votes. For
Constable, E. W. Shaw received 18 votes.
The Honorable Board now took a recess
until 1:30 p. m.

The Honorable Board met pursuant to
recess, and resolved itself into the Board
of County Commissioners.
Certificates of Election were issued to
the following: In Precinct No. 1, for Jus
tice of the Peace, E. F. Saxon; for Consta
ble, J. F. Ward. In Precinct No. 5, for
Justice of the Peace, Patricio Sanchez; for
Constable, Thomas Duran. In Precinct
No. 3. for Justice of the Peacb, W. T.
Gibson; for Constable, W. T. Pierce. In
Precinct No. 4, for Justice of the Peace, a
tie was found, and no certificate of election
was issued; for Constable, JoshT. Bristow.
In Precinct No. 6, for Justice of the Peace,
Pablo Gomez; for Constable, E. W. Shaw.
Bond of Patricio Sanchez, with James
Lanigan and Eugenio Garcia as sureties,
was approved. Bond of Josh Bristow as
Constable in Precinct No. 4, with J. J.
Harrison and C. II. Chenault as sureties,
was approved. Bond of J. F. Ward, as
Constable, with sureties of T. R. Byrd and
F. D. Baker, was approved.
Board now adjourned to meet at ga. m.,
February 5, '907.

The Honorable Board met pursuant to
adjournment.
Members present: J. M. Hodges, Chair
man, and Commissioner Darnell.
On account of a tie being in the vote for
Justice of the Peace in Precinct No. 4, the
Honorable Board, in accordance with the
law, ordered a special election to be hold
on March 2nd, 1907, at the school house at
Puerto, New Mexico, and appoints J. M.
Griggs, J. R. McCain and Onesimo Salazar
to act as Judges for said election.
D. J. Aber is authorized to make map of
Quay County, of size submitted, showing
townships, sections, quarters of sections,
rivers, railroads, rough lands, school dis
trict!, and voting precincts, same 10 be
made complete for (15,00.
Board now adjourned to meet at 1 p. m.

The Honorable Board met pursurant to
adjournment.
Members present: J. M. Hodges, Chair
man, Commissioners Darnell and Batson.
A petition to amend road south from
Tucumcari, was presented, and granted,
same road to be sixty feet in width, and to
be constructed without expense to me
County. The petition is as follows;

To the Honorable Board of County Com
missioners of Quay County, New Moxico:
Gentlemen;
We, the undersigned freeholders, citi
zens of your County, respectfully represent
that the necessities of the public require a
road to be laid out as follows to-wit:
To Amend Road Petition presented by
Mr. Estel, et al by omitting all that part
south, on Sec. line from Cor. to Sections
11 & 12, 13 & 14 in T 10 N R 30 E de
scribed in said petition, and substituting
the following description in place of said
omission.
Beginning at a point on thu half section
line between sections 11 and 14 in township
1 1, north of range 30, east and running
thence on half section line south through
sections 14, 23, 26 and 35 in township 11
north, range 30 east and on half section
line south through section 2, township 10,
north of range 30 east, to a point between
said section 2 and section 11, township 10,
north of range 30 east, being the terminus
of said proposed road.
It is desired that said road follow the
lines: designated, as near as practicable for
a road to be opened with nominal expense.

In the matter of release of tax of Doc
Yates, the District Attorney advises the
Board that they have no jurisdiction.
Now comes Milnor Rudolph, and petit
ions Board to authorize him to get lumber
to widen bridge over the creek near his
place, he to do the work. Petition was
allowed.
The Honorable Board now appointed
the following road overseers for Quay
County: Precinct No. 1 A. Conner; Pre
cinct No. 2 Albert Wilborn; Precinct No,
3 Claud Fallwell; Precinct iNTo. 4 J. R.
Mi-Kane; Precinct No. 5 William Capps;
Precinct No. 6 Walter Thurlow.
The H onorable Board fixes the time for
road work in each precinct as five days of
eight hours each, each year. The Board
orders the Clerk to seenre pamphlets of
road law of this Territory, one copy for
each overseer.
The Tucumcari-Endee Telephone Com
pany, by Alldredge & Saxon, prays per
mission to place their line along side of the
public highway from Endee to Tucumcari.
On motion by Commissioner Batson, sec
onded by Commissioner Darnell, same was
granted.
