From Cactus Thorn Wound
The daughter of J . D. Parker,
a prominent farmer living 12 miles
south of hero died Saturday from
blood poisoning, caused by stepp
ing on a cactus thorn.
The thorn pierced the foot and
developed very rapidly into an
aggravated case, causing her
death, in great suffering despite
the best medical aid which could
Fire Destroys Home of
Quay County Widow
The home of Mrs. Mantooth,
four miles northeast of town, was
burned with all of the contents,
while Mrs. Mantooth was in town
last Saturday shopping. The cit
izens have been donating towards
assisting her co rebuild her house.
The ladies of the Presbyterian
church will have an apron-hanker-chief
bazaar on the night of July
30th on the vacant lot between the
stores of Campbell and Williams.
Will have shelter in case of rain.
