Please notify, through the columns of your paper, all whom it may concern, that there has been accomplished the organization of a Sunday school, giving promiso of con siderable interest, at tlto school houdc on tho Cottonwood, but by unanimous vote it was agreed to meet in a spacious room, furnished with an organ, tendered by Mr. and Mrs. Quinu nt their resi dence, where, at tho hour of two o'clock p. tu. each Sabbath in tho future, we expect good singing and bo interested in tho lc-sous to the salvation of all. Come all, come, help aud oblige. Supt. Tho enterprising uici chants of Liben.1 aro pretty well represented iu the col umns of the Herald this week. No better rccummendation of a merchant is needed than the fact that ho advcrtUes his wares iu a Geld where ho is getting and expects to draw more trade. The business man who has honest goods to sell at honest prices will, if ho is a bus iness man worthy of the name, let tho peoplo know it. If a merchant has no good bargains to offer, of courso ho does not want lo ndvertiso that fact. Ad vertisements in the Herald by raer c'lants of surreundiug lowra is feed well sown, for, our vast county being without a railroad, a largo per cent of the people I must do their trading outtidc the county. The money tlicy fpend had just as well go to local towns as to bo senfc to de partment stores cat. The pcopln should nnd do patronize the merchants who let it bo known that they aro nut dead. It is safo to assume- that every man and woman in this immense county, aud every child old enough to take an inter est in reading, will scan tho columns of this paper this week. Kvcry person in tho county who owns a dollar's worth of property and that means all of them will tcccivc a copy, excepting in cases where there aro several taxpayers in one family, all living under one rocf; there wo send only two copies, as more would be superfluous. If, by rny mishap, any taxpayer is overlooked, drop us a card, and you will receive a copy of this paper once every quarter, containing tho com missioners' proceedings, free. Don't bo afraid to take the paper out of the post offico for fear you will havo to pay for it. If you want your namo placed on tho books as a regular subscriber, and haven't a dollar handy, drop us a postal card, telling us where to address the paper, and it will be all right; you cau settle later. County Treasurer Williamson went to Meado Monday, to look after tho inter ests of tho county in the bank failuro case. There has been some little corns ment going the rounds lately, unfavora bio to Jim, but we arc glad to note that it is confined to a very few peoplo throughout tho county. The chances aro that tho treasurer will be able to get all the money back, but if it should turn out that ho cannot, we don't be lieve that he should ho compelled to sacriGco his property in order to reimburse tho couuty treasury. Jim never sought tho office in the first place friends nominated and elected him but he has been a model officer, has per formed his duties conscientiously, and, though he is held by law for the full amount entrusted to tho defunct bank, there is no roason apparent to us why he should ho compelled tu give up the last dollar he has on earth in order to meet this unjust obligation. By untir ing energy, years of hard work, Jim has accumulated a small bunch of cattle, and he would nillingly part with every hoof, if ncccsiary, in order to get this business settled but, his friends should bec that tht re is no necessity for it. It I was not his fault that tho bank broke, not his fault that tho .county had no suitable place to keep its money. Tho county will not los- anything. Jim will liquidate the claim, though it takes his last cent, and then some. Jim's friends aro legion why not sec lo it that he is not compelled to bear the brunt of this disaster, ahould it transpire that ho cannot get the money from the bank? IIEAYEK COUNTY.
