This should be stopped and the peoplO who has cattle out should keep them off. -W. S. Kirksey had several sacks of guano cut open last week by some unknown parties. He says he don't care for losing tho guano, but ho would like for them to bring him back some sacks as good as the ones they cut up. -A tent was put up Monday near court house square. The meeting commenced today, (Wed nesday,) and is conductod by the llevs. McElroy and Hayos. They have recently closed a protracted meeting at Pleasaut Hill, and they exp~ect much good while here. -A Mr. Harris, of Pendleton, received the *50 prize offered by the News and Courier for the heav iest hog raised during the year 1896. Mr. Harris's pig weighed 15 pounds on March 1st 1896, and 515 pounds on December 24th, hav' ing gainedl 500 p)ourlds in 300 clays. -Anderson Journal: Another oine of Anderson's best citizens, one of nature's noblemen, has gone to his long lest.
