Boyd will lie glad to learn that she is
rapidly recovering after her recent
operation.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Palmer, of
Cokesbury, spent several days at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Hicbey.

ing a few weeks witli his parents here,
has returned to his home in Port
Art bus. Texas.
Mr. J. II. Sullivan and daughter,
Helen, left yesterday for Greenville,
Anderson and Williamston. They will
be gone until Monday.
The young men of the city are ex
pecting to have a dance at the Armory
tonight. A number of out of town
people have been invited.
Messrs. John Anderson of Texas and
George Anderson of Rock Hill are in
Laurens visiting at the home of their
sister, Mrs. W. L. Boyd.
Mr. J. L. M. Irby, who is doing en
gineering work near Charleston, is In
the city for a few days visiting bis
mother and other relatives.
Messrs. R. T. Henderson and Don
Bums, of Harksdale, spent last week
In Asheville and other points of In
terest in the "Land of the Sky."
Messrs. Henry McKinney and Sam
Fortner, of Greenwood, spent Sunday

have been visiting at the home of Mr.

for Lancaster to attend a house party.
She was accompanied as far as Co

that part of the Journey In Mr. Wil
son's car.
Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Minter will leave
today for the north on a visit to New
York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and
other eastern markets. While away
Mr. Minter will combine pleasure with
business, buying a largo stock of fall
goods for J. E. Minter and Bro.

the 17th for Washington, New York,

way of the St. Lawrence River and

Mr. A. W. Caldwell and family have
returned to the city after spending
the Bummer season at their home in
Clinton, N. C. They are 'occupying the
Kasterby house on West Main street.
Mr. Caldwell will again be in tho cot
ton market here this fall.
