omnibus investigating resolution of Mr.
Fortner, which stirred up things a bit
to-da>', and which goes on the House
Calendar for future consideration,
reads:
Be It resolved, by the House of Rop
resenatlvesi the Senate concurring.
Soctlon 1. That a Joint committee,
composed of the committee on rail
roads of the House and the committee
on railroads of the Senate, be author
ized and required to examine into and
ascertain from the various railroads
of this State, who are authorized to
issue passes over the railroad lines of
this, State and If any persons, other
than railroad officials, are vested with
Buch power; and that said Joint com
mute tie authorized and directed to
call before them, for the purpose, the
presidents and general suprentendents
of the railroads operating in this State,
or such of them as may be necessary
to carry out the provisions of this
resolution.
Section 2. That said Joint commit
tee be authorized and required to ex

State officials, or clerks therof, or
friends of State officials, at the request
