Lanford, Sept. 24.-Our community
was visited with a very severe hall and
electric storm Saturday' afternoon, the
hail doing considerable damage to the
Crols of Mir. Little, Mr. West and Mr.
Charles Pulley near here. The light
ning killed a very valuable calf for Mr.
C. C. Cox.
Mr. ). Roy Patterson and Miss
Robin Patterson are still improving
slowly. They are able to dismiss the
nurse. We are so glad to know they
are on tle road to recovery.
The ladies of the Rural School im
prove'ement association will present a
health program next Friday night, 'Sop
tember 28(h at 8 o'clock in the school
auditorlum, after whiclh will be a lec
iure on health from Dr. Ilughes of
Laurens. Ice cream will be sold, the
proceeds to go to the improvement of
the school and grounds. All are in
vited to attend and encourage the chil
dren and teachers in their work.

home from Furman.

for Asheville, to attend the normal
college there this year.
