Greenwood, .July I 4.-The relatives
and friends of Mir. Pierce Irby Daven
port were shocked to hear of his death
last Monday which occurred at the
home of his niece Mirs. P. I3. \Varren.
le had been in ill health for sometime
but no one considered his condition
serious until a short time before his
-Air. Davenport was in his 63rd year.
3Ie spent his early life in Laurens
county and came to this county about
.,even years ago. lie wil be greatly
missed by his numerous relatives and
friends, especially among the children.
The funeral services were conduct
ed Tuesday morning by Rev. W. Ii.

)He is survlved by two brothers, MIr.
W. M. Davenport, of Greenwood, and

one half-sister, Alrs. Harrison Pinson.
