the late tleniNe of the "Dally Review Hb
The Cocblsn Daily Review has ceas
ed u u daily. In the future it. will ap
pear us n weekly paper. Thus it will
be scon that the demand for n daily
paporin Bisbee was not equal to the
cost of supplying the commodity. The
fact is a dally newspaper which does
uot publish the Associated Press news
is not generally sought after,' and the
coof this telegraph sorvico is too
great to be borne by the publisher alone
unless he has a large circulation and
No one save those who have paid for
the experience can realize the cost of
maintaining a dally journal In the Ter
ritory of Arizona. Many thousands of
dollars have been lost by thoso who
have made the venture without care
fully counting the cost. In the eastern
States where large metropolitan jour
nals are published, it is estimated that
a daily paper of any importance cannot
be published profitably in a city of less
than 20,000 inhabitants.
The publishers of the Cochise Re
viErhave shwn good business judg
ment In returning to a w.oekly publica
tion rather than a dally which is serv
ed to the publicat a financial loss. No
doubt some of the investors have en
joyed valual le newspaper experience
but thy had to pay tor it.
Prominent Mormons are In Arizona.
Seveaal prominent Morman leaders
have arrived In Arizona on a visit to
their people. They are now In the
San Pejdro valley among Hhe Mormon
people at St. David and other places,
and will go to the Gila valloy later on.
The leaders are Joseph E. Smith and
wife; Dr. Seymour B. Young Und A. O.
"Woodruff, of Salt Lake City. Mr.
Smith Is the president of the Mormon
chureh and the other two also hold
prominent positions In the hierarchy,
Dr. Young being one of the Cauncll of
Seventy, and Mr. Woodruff the young
est member of the apostles. They
came from the Sierra Madre country,
where they have been making a tour
of the colonies. These, they report,
are all In a very prosperous condition,
and the people very contented. They
are engaged chiefly In farming and
stock raising. The immediate object
of the trip was the establishment of a
new ward a Chihuahua. A ward it, a
district organizatl6n of the church.
The colonies are all progressing well.
At Juarez there is a factory for the
manufacture of doors, window sashes
and all kinds of turned work. The
company now has contracts for consid
erable work In the city of Chihuahua.

a familiar one in Arizona history, being
a champion shot, a famous scout, and
holds the record for quick time in steer

lie -has few equals. The Prospector
says that Goodwin has had much ex
perience In his tours with the Buf
falo 'Bill and Meadow shows until
now Cupid has taken a hand and roped
him with the lariet of love and tied
him to Hymen's altar. He Is being
showered with congratulations by his
numerous Tombstone friends.
Detective J. D. Thackor was in Tomb
stone Tuesday. Mr. Thacker states the
story of the finding of Al void's bones

founded in fact. The veteran detective
regards the story as of no import and
