This district consists of the Gimp
Verde road, thirty-one ami one-lmit

live miles, and some additional slile
roads,,aiiiouutlng in all to about 115
miles of country road, and they liavtt
been worked as follows:
Tfae Camp Verdo road to tlie cuunly
line, thirty-one and one-half mile,
three times; a ten-mile section of same
road has been cleaned four linn, iimk-
Idet a total of 105 miles at a cost of
$235, averaging a cash cost to thb dis
trict of 2.25 per mile for the milt s
worked, or less tbau $7.50 per mile for
the length of the road. Iu 1892 I ex
pended about $900 on this road or $30
per mile, and now it Is in much better
condition, at a cost of one-quarter at
compared with flv years ago.
The Tonto Baaiu road has been
worked a distance of fifty-five miles hi
a cost of $127, an average oxpeiiilltuie
of -lew than $2-30 per mile. ThrtM
years ago our lirst working of the roal
cost near $700, or about $8.50 pt
mile. As far as worked, the road is li.
better shape than it has ovet been.
In addition to our regular work
we-were Instructed to repair the eroa
road from the Tonto Basil, to tin
Verde roads, fifteen miles, an almo-t
impassible trail. This work cost $1'J,
or about $3.30 per mile.
We itlso expended $239.50, sulx-cribm
by the business men of Flagstaff nut!
vicinity, on the roads In Yavapai
county, viz., the , Camp Verde road
from the Coconino ine to foot of Be;i

miles, all being heavy work. Then
were put in forty-two new water-let
