The theatre on Saturday even

Putney Company ol Albuquerque
was in the city Monday. He sells
most of the groceries that we eat.
B. H. Smith, the Livery man of
Holbrook was in the city this
week. He had Putney's man in
charge.
B. Schuster, the head of the
firm A. & R. Schuster at this
place, has returned from his win
ter's business visit to Phoenix.
He comes home alone, leaving
Mrs. Schuster to finish . put the
winter at Mesa, where the gentle
zeph3rrs are not too cold.
Prudencio Trujillo has returned
from Phoenix. He, like all of
the sheepmen who went to the
Phoenix country, looks fat and
sauc.)r.
We have turned out some fine
letter heads for Henry Barrett in
the last few days. And we have
just shipped a fine batch of Due
Bills over to the Schuster Mer
cantile Company of Concho,
These gentlemen believe in pat
ronizing home industry.
J. W. Bennett, of Houck's
Tank, the gentleman who took
the first prize on Navajo Blanket
Exhibit at the Albuauerque fair
last fall, was in our city as a wit
ness in the J. D. Boone case.
Mr. Bennett is one of Apache's
leading citizens, and is well
knownall over the county, though
he rarely comes this far from the
R. R.
F. F. S. Meserva, the famous
Indian Trader of Sanders, was a
witness before Justice Salazar, in
the Boone case on Saturday.
"Frank" is one of those genial
good fellows whom it is a pleasure
to meet. He came in and left a
dollar of the 44fiflhy lucre" for a
year of our journalistic efforts.

A big dance was pulled off on
Tuesday night, in commemora
tion of the 25th anniversary of
the organization of the Relief
Society.
Garden plowing will soon be in
full blast, and then the old hen
will be getting in her best work
in aid of the gardener. Let the

principal of the Concho School
was over on a hasty visit Satur
day. He returned to his 4 'baili

Mrs. Frank Ruiz has received
word from her husband, that he
intends taking a trip down into
Old Mexico.' He will be gone for
several months, and consequently
she has rented their cottage to
Dr. Fleming.
St. Johns has a new doctor. He
arrived here from Wickenburg
last Saturda'-. His name is J. J.
Fleming. He is a graduate of
the Ohio Wesleyan Medical Col
lege of Cleveland, Ohio. While
this a community in which very
iew people ever get sick, still
when the7 do get sicJthe" want
a doctor, and one doctor often
proves insufficient for a commun
ity so widely dispersed as in this
section of the Little Colorado
Valley. There is nothing like
having plentv oc Doctors and we
hope Dr Fleming will find it con
genial and lo his benefit to be
come a fixture here.
Hen Bibo, Assessor of Valen
cia County, N. M., was a visitor
to our city last week. His main
business was to see Ben Schuster
and this is the second time he
has been here on a similar misbion
arid failed to find his man.
