RESTORATION TO ENTRY
OF LANDS IN NATIONAL
FOREST.
Notice is hereby given that the
lands described below, embracing
520.07 acres, within the Apache
National Forest, Arizona will be
subject to settlement and entry
under the provisions of the home
stead laws of the United States
and the act of Jane 1J , 1906 (34
Stat., 233), at the United States
land office at Phoenix, Arizona,
on March 17. 1913. Any set
tler who was actually und in
good faith claiming any of said
lands for agricultural purposes
prior to January 1, 1906, and has
not abandoned same, has a pref
erence right to make a home
stead entry for thelands actually
occupied. Said lands were listed
upon' the applications of the per
sons mentioned below, who have
preference right subje6t to the
prior right of any such settler,
provided such settler or applicant
is (qualified to make homestead
entry and the preference right is
exercised prior to March 17, 1913,
on which date the lands will be
subject to settlement and entry
by any qualified person. The
lands are. as follows: A tract
within Sees. 17 and 20, T- 5 N. ,
R. 31 E., G. & S. R. M., describ
ed by metes and bounds as fol
lows: Beginning at corner No. 1,
whence the southwest corner of
Sec. 16 of said township bears N.
37 deg. E, 3.70 chains; extending
thence N. 5 defif. W. 16 chains;
thence. N. 29 deg. E. 6.89 chains;
thence N. 20 chains; thence W.
30 chains; thence N. 15 chains;
thence W. 25 chains; thence N.
5 chains; thence W. 20 chains;
thence S. 20 chains; thence E. 35.
50 chains; thence S. 20 chains;
thence N. 44 deg. E. 18 chains;
thence S. 75 deer. E. 11,52 chains;
thence S. 6 deg. E, 19 chains;

to corner No. 1, the place of be
ginning. There are two strips,
each 30 feet wide, excepted there
from as follows: (1st strip), Be
ginning at a point 5 chains N.
of corner No. 10 of the tract, ex
tending thence 15 feet on each !
side of a line running S. 83 deg.
E. 45.50 chains totheplace where
the end of the strip closes on the
boundary of the tract. (2nd
strip). Beginning at a point 50
links N-.44 deg. E. of corner No.
12 of the tract, extending thence
15 feet on each side of a line run
ning N. 21 chains to the place
where the end of the strip closes
on the boundary of the: first ex
cepted strip; the net area being
151.28 acres. Said tract was list
