HONOLULU. Sept. 2. Two more
bodies were found today by the men
engaged in clearing the hull of the
Submarine F-4. One of them is be
lieved by Lieutenant Crittenden to be
either the remains of Lieutenant Ede,
commander of the diver, or Ensign
Parker. It was the discovery of an
officer's cap' which was nea'r the re
mains found in the after part of the
battery compartment that led to the
belief that one of the bodies was that
of an officer. The insignia on the cap
"was gone "and naval authorities ex
press doubt that positive identification
will be possible.
The work of uncovering the eng
tangled bones and decomposed frag
ments of bodies progresses slowly. A
note book" was found containing a few
notes but they were not legible. It
contained the records of the subma
rine's battery, according to Lieute'nan.t
Crittenden, a member of the naval
board of inquiry. Fresh air was forced
into the forward compartment of the
submarine to facilitate the work in
there.
A battery of 120 artillerymen fronx
Jlonterey, Cal., were in Yuma for sev
tyal hours this afternoon. One hun
dred and three of these men are said
Lfb be foreign born, which only goes
to show that some of our hyphenated
Americans are made of the rigbt
stuff. These soldiers are enroute to
Douglas, Ariz., Lieut Bishop in command.
ONE JOHN SE0D01
IN ENTIRE WORLD
(By Benjamin Franklin Fly)
John Seddon!
Did you ever hear the name? No
doubt many of you have, for he is
a well known 'farmer over on the Bard
unit, but unless you have heard his
name, you never heard any other man
called by the same name.
He is the "original and only" John
Seddon! No other man in all the
world bears that name, peculiar as
that may 'seem. I'll prove it!
Some time ago Mr. Seddon declared
that he was the only John Seddon in
the world, and offered to bet his valu
able holdings in Bard that such was
the case. He could get no one to take
his bet, but a mutual friend wrote to
a friend in London, England, and ask
ed him to address a letter to "John
Seddon, United States of America."
It was done. The letter reached
'New York first; then it was sent to
my old schoolmate, Postmaster Gen
eral "Al" Burleson. In the shortest
time .imaginable the words "Yuma,
Arizona," were written in red ink on
the envelope and in four days, John
Seddon had his letter, conclusively
proving that he is "the original and
only" John Seddon.
Long may he live! But in all fair
ness to the country he ought to have
a son named John, in order to perpetu
ate the strange name.

PHYSICIAN ADVISES
MISS ELENA PR'NCE
Miss Elena Prince has returned
from San Diego and Los Angeles,
where she spent over two months, re
cuperating. .She gained justs three
pounds net during the long vacation,
probably because there wasn't room
for any more weight.
Miss Prince will hereafter .superin
tend the cashier's desk at the famed
Stag Cafe (that white Chinaman,.
Charlie Sam always was lucky), tak
ing the place of her sister, Miss Mary,,
who left last night for Los Angeles
where she will attend school.
Miss Elena served two years' ap
prenticeship at the Yuma Dally Ex
aminer printship and office, but was
subject to metalic poisoning which:
necessitated her giving up the work
on the advice of her physician. A
younger sister, Miss Bertha Prince,
nov has charge of the mailing list at
the Examiner office.

RES PUBLIS LAIB
WASHINGTON, D. C Sept. 2.
More than 11,200;000 acres of public:
land were eliminated from .the public
domain during the past fiscal year,,
according to the annual report of Com
missioner Clay Tallman of the general
land office.
There remains 279,544,404 acres,
open in the public land states, in ad
dition to approximately three hundred
million acres in Alaska. California
has 20 635,923 acres; Arizona 36,810,-
327 and New Mexico 27,788,357.
In the report of Commissioner Tall
man, it is seen Arizona has more of
the public domain than even the great
state of California. In the past year,
there has been quite a deal of activity
over land matters, homesteads have
been numerous, state selections have
recently increased by leaps and.
bounds.
The surveyor general reports great
progress in survey of public lands, and
while there is an immense lot of un
charted lands, the work has been
mainly' satisfactory.
Mrs. J. H. Anderson and daughter
have secured apartments for the com
ing winter at Idlwilde, the same rooms
they had last year, No. 590 Second
avenue. Mr. Anderson recently ar
rived from British Columbia.
